'01 Green Bay vs. '94 San Francisco After 3 straight scores by the Packers early on, including 1 Safety - it looked like the Niners were in for more than they could handle at Candlestick Park. But Steve Young would finally find Brent Jones in the end zone to put his team on the map. Unfortunately for him, his next possession would end up in an unprecedented 2nd Safety of the game - giving Green Bay the 14-7 lead at half. In the 2nd half, Young would tie things up on another pass to Ricky Watters, but the Packers soon took over from there. After Longwell hit a 43 yard FG, Green found himself in the end zone on a 1 yard play. Later in the 4th quarter, Favre found Schroeder in the end zone to get the 31-14 lead. With just minutes of gameplay left, the 49ers would pick up a crucial Safety of their own to be within 15 points. But they couldn't capitalize on it. Packers win 31-16 Favre completed just 25/42 but managed 272 yards on the day with 1 TD and 1 INT. Young completed 7...

'10 Atlanta vs. '08 Carolina The Falcons flew into Carolina ready to keep their dominance over the division. They'd get their way, too, as their defense stopped the Panthers cold in their tracks. The usually wild Panthers were completely shut-out, while Matt Ryan and company did well. Nobody stood out on offense for Atlanta, but Ryan threw for 2 TD's from his 26 completions, with 289 yards on the day. Snelling and Turner totalled 145 yards on the ground. Carolina as a team struggled to even total 200 yards. Bryant was only 2-4 of FGs, but what he did make boosted the final score to 20-0, Falcons. '99 Rams vs. '84 Dolphins The Dolphins were hoping for a break at home, but against the Greatest Show on Turf, had possibly one of the Worst showings of their existence. Even with 26 minutes of possession time, the Dolphins struggled for positive yardage, despite taking much time off the clock. Marino threw for just 1 TD, getting picked off 3 times by the Rams. He co...

'08 NY Giants vs. '80 Philadelphia The Eagles vs Giants became as giant of a showdown as could be expected from these great defenses. The scoring was low, and it took over 20 minutes of game time before Jaworski would find Smith in the end zone for the game's first score. The Giants would try hard to claw back, but had to settle for FG's twice before the 4th quarter began. Down by just 1 point, Manning would struggle to find an open receiver inside the red zone, and took matters into his own hands. His 3 yard rushing TD put NY on top, and the 2-point conversion made it a 7-point lead. With 13 minutes of game time to go, Jaworski failed to get anymore momentum against the Big Blue. Giants win 14-7 New York ran for 179 yards on the day, with Jacobs leading the effort with 100 yards in 17 carries. Ward also averaged over 5 yards / carry. The Eagles simply struggled to get their run game going. On the other hand, Manning had a great day for accuracy at 60%, but had only s...

'19 Kansas City vs. '80 Buffalo With most teams in the AFC at 3-2 right now, this matchup presents a chance for Mahomes to get back on track, or for Buffalo to show their recent wins weren't just flukes. At Rich Stadium, over 81,000 fans showed up to see what would happen. And after a Buffalo TD run by Cribbs late in the 1st quarter, Bills fans were shouting. And as several 4-and-outs came and went, things seemed certain. But just inside the 2 minute warning before half, Mahomes caught fire, and the rest of the game was history. Connecting to Hardman on a 20 yard TD throw was just the start of what would continue to be KC dominance in the 2nd half. Buffalo continued struggling on offense, but Mahomes found ways to pass and run his way to scores. The game was 28-7 by late 4th quarter, and a Safety against Buffalo just proved to be more salt in the wound. Chiefs win 30-7 The Bills totaled just 278 yards offense, with Cribbs and Brown at least putting up over half that on t...
