With not much time for writing, "Quarterly" updates seemed a little aggressive. Given the time they take, and how little impact they have with what's coming up, it seemed unnecessary. So here I am with what will be the 2nd of 3 reviews of the GFL standings and stats this season.  At this point, very few teams will have solidified anything for playoff season, but we can get a clear picture of what battles lay ahead for each team. One thing's clear so far - the team below is looking to carry several advantages over the rest of the league, particularly with such an explosive offense. AFC In the AFC, Wheatley has the highest rushing average at 5.6 yards/carry, just ahead of Ladanian Tomlinson and Gary Brown. Tomlinson leads with rushing yards, however, having already exceeded 1,200 for the season with the closest competitor (Martin, NYJ) not yet breaking 1,000. '74 Cardinals vs. '05 Seattle The Seahawks entertained the faithful fans at Qwest Stadium with a huge victory over the Cardinals. Scoring 17 unanswered points in the first quarter alone, Hasselbeck and Alexander moved the ball easily against the usually tough St. Louis defense. The Cardinals would get their first break early in the 2nd quarter, scoring a TD on a 2 yard Anderson run. But by half time, the 'Hawks led 24-10 after another Hasselbeck TD. Seattle's defense continued to hold the Cardinals off in the 2nd half, and Shaun Alexander continued to be an unstoppable force. With 31 carries for 178 yards and 3 rushing TD's, he helped propel the Seahawks to a 31-10 final win. Hasselbeck completed 72.5% of his throws for 247 yards.
