Alternate Universe, Alternate League

In an alternative universe, where Donald Trump is not president and Vince McMahon never wasted his millions on reviving the XFL...

Today at a special press conference outside Madison Square Gardens, the super-rich leaders of CLAWS, the world's super-conservative effort to reform sports, announced a new effort in entertaining their fans. Donald Trump and Vince McMahon announced that Conservative Leaders Against Wussy Sports has organized a high tech effort to simulate a football league that will put the best teams in NFL history against each other. The goal is to not only entertain fans with teams that don't complain about politics, but also build towards a historic showdown of epic proportions when champions from each Conference face off in the Greatest Ever Bowl.  Despite some initial delays organizing the effort, the league, passionately known as the Greatest Football League, will eventually play games on the same planned 2020 schedule as the now-defunct NFL.

The teams that will compete with each other were announced as follows:

  • 2010 Atlanta Falcons
  • 2006 Baltimore Ravens
  • 1980 Buffalo Bills
  • 2008 Carolina Panthers
  • 2006 Chicago Bears
